General update & commission information

It’s 2025!

Hello everyone! And happy new year.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve updated this blog. 2024 was a busy year (although…aren’t they all?!). Much of my annual leave was spent travelling which I am incredibly grateful for. Visiting America, Poland and Spain were the highlights of the year - so many memories and new experiences packed into each trip!

Bethesda and Amazon also invited to the London Premiere of the Fallout TV show…still pinching myself with that one! I’m sure I’ll make a post about it here soon.

As fun as its been both I (and my bank account) need a break from hopping around the world so that I can work on creative projects. Many of you know that my book ‘Hiraeth’ is in the works. I’ll be sharing bits and pieces of this over the next couple of years however most of it will remain under wraps until I feel it’s in a good place, or when it is close to completion.

2025 will also see me returning to commission work depending on my availability. I do work a full-time office job so time away from a computer is absolutely mandatory for me to remain sane and not ruin my posture! However I am open to opportunities such as group projects, personal paintings, gift paintings and such. This will be on a first come first serve basis.

2025 commission information

Timescales

My aim is to adhere to the following timeframes for completion of work:

• 3 character sketches per month (2 per month if 2 characters in the same image are requested)

• 3 inked drawings per month (2 per month if 2 characters in the same image are requested)

• 1 colour painting (of 1 or 2 characters with a simple background) per month.

Prices

Set prices for digital sketches, inks and character art (with no or a simple background) is as follows:

If a full ‘in situ’ illustration is requested consisting of multiple characters, props and a detailed background, this will be priority work and may take longer than a month to complete - though no longer than 3 - depending on other commitments such as my day job and the complexity of the image requested. Other commission requests will be put on hold during the time it takes for me to complete a full illustration.

‘Full illustration’ being:

• An 'In-Situ' illustration featuring multiple characters, props and a detailed background

• Pet portraits.

Payment and further details:

I only accept PayPal and payment will be accepted following these milestones:

For sketches:

• Payment is accepted upon completion of the sketch.

For inks:

• 50% of the payment is accepted following completion of the sketch

• The final 50% balance accepted upon completion of the inks.

For colour paintings (character only, simple or no background)

• 50% of the payment is accepted upon completion of the inks/refined sketch

• The final 50% is accepted upon completion of the full painting.

For full illustration work:

• For more detailed work a 50% deposit will be payable once you are happy with your sketch design before the rest of the work is completed

• Once complete, the remaining 50% will be paid and I will send a high-resolution PNG or JPEG (depending on preference) file via WeTransfer

• ‘Work in progress’ time-lapse videos can also be sent on request (for work completed solely in Procreate).

Media used

All commissioned artwork is digital only and I use the following programs: Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint.

All of my artwork is 100% authentic and AI-free, from early thumbnail concepts to the final piece.
